Bowling League

Bowling is an intramural sport? Around here it is! Join us and 200 others for 8 weeks of bowling this fall/winter!

You can find the Indy Catholic league standings HERE!

Bowl for your health

How it Works:

Bowling takes place October through December at Hindel Bowling Lanes 6833 Massachusetts Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46226. Hindel is one of the last family-owned alleys in the city and has been here since 1957. Amenities include hardwood lanes (they don’t make ‘em like this anymore!) and a snack bar and lounge.  Lanes open for practice at 6:45p with the league beginning at 7p each week. This coming season, we will be changing to teams of 6 people to accommodate more bowlers!

Each team has 6 players total (all 6 members will be bowling each week). To ensure a good experience for all, we encourage you to commit to coming to all the games. This builds team spirit and will not leave your team in a lurch if you are not there. For this reason, we ask that you commit to coming to AT LEAST 6 of the 8 weeks. We know that things happen that cannot be foreseen, but besides that, we ask that you make this a real commitment. *You may only bowl for the team that you are registered with. No rule about # of guys vs ladies. Team captains will be able to call a sub to fill in. Each sub will just need to pay $10 when they get to the bowling alley each night that they are filling in.

This Season’s Info:

  • Every Tuesday from October 17th through December 12th (with a break during the week of Thanksgiving)
  • Hindel Bowling Lanes, 6833 Massachusetts Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46226
  • 6:50p lanes open for warm-up’s, 7-9pm Each team bowls 2 games
  • This league fills up fast so register ASAP! Registration closes when spots are filled.

Rules and Regulationshindel road sign

Hindel will also be organizing our schedule and league standings. Each week they will post updated information on their website. You will be able to see how well your team is doing as well as your own progress. This is also where you will see which team you will be playing the next week. They have a ‘handicap’ rule for all of us who bowl below 200. They simply add 100% of the difference of your average and 200. This enables all teams, no matter what your skill level, to have a chance at winning.

Hindel Bowling Lanes also has an extensive list of rules that will be given out to each team captain the first night. This will explain everything, including how scoring and league standings work.

It’s going to be a good time!

Theology on Tap, Indianapolis

Yes, that’s right. Theology on Tap. Faith in a bar. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” Here at Theology on Tap, a program of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, we are committed to taking our faith outside the four walls of the church and sharing it with a new generation.  (young adults ages 21-35)

Operation Leftover

Next “Roll Out” is the 3rd Thursday of the month @ 6:30pm, meet at St. John the Evangelist Church

Future dates:  Every third Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted!

Help serve the homeless in the downtown Indianapolis area!  Roll out with food, drinks, info pamphlets, and a willing spirit to meet the homeless where they are at.

More and more every day, God calls us to be disciples to the people around us—classmates, co-workers, and even strangers we encounter on the street. Operation Leftover offers an opportunity to meet and socialize with the homeless and impoverished in Indianapolis. Once a month, Operation Leftover gathers food, secondhand clothing, and other toiletries to distribute to those in need in the downtown Indianapolis area.

Contact Andrew Costello @ for more information.

During a “Rollout,” we hit the streets of Indianapolis and socialize with those who may be impoverished or whose basics needs are not being met.  By providing fellowship, sharing faith, and providing resources to our brothers and sisters out on the street, we can empower them to get to where they need to be. Here are the details:

Things to bring:

  • Blankets
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Any grocery bags (plastic, paper, or cloth) that you want to get rid of
  • Bottled Water/Gatorade
  • Any homemade food or fast food (e.g. Little Caesar’s, Subway, etc.) that you wish to distribute
  • Chips/Light snacks
  • Toilet Paper
  • Trash bags
  • Pillows
  • Sleeping bags

“This is a great honor, and I wanted to thank all of your for your hard work, support, prayer, encouragement, and dedication to Operation Leftover and what we strive to accomplish. This ministry is a team effort, and without your assistance and the grace of God, it would not have lasted this long. Some of you travel long and far to attend out outreach efforts, and all of you carve time out of your busy schedules to gather donations or join us when we are on the streets. So thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued support of Operation Leftover. I have even more confidence now that God approves of this ministry, and I am excited to see how it will continue to evolve. May God bless you all abundantly for your generosity towards the poor of Indianapolis!” – Andrew
