What are Emmaus Groups?
IndyCatholic offers opportunities to go deeper and learn more about your faith through small group ministry. The Emmaus Groups give young adults an opportunity to walk with one another as they continue to grow in their relationship with the Lord. It’s about developing authentic friendships, having deep transformations, and becoming a missionary disciple. Groups vary on when, where, and how often they meet. There are groups for men, women, single, married, and various ages.
When joining an Emmaus Group there is a commitment involved. After you attend the first few gatherings, we hope that you can commit to regular attendance for the foreseeable future. This is important for the development of trust within the group.
What happens at an Emmaus Group?
Each gathering begins and ends with prayer. Groups will either dive into a scripture study, read from Church teachings, or books/articles from Catholic authors. Depending on the group, the gathering lasts about 2 hours.
There is such a large need for this ministry and we are always looking to start new groups. If you are interested in becoming an Emmaus Group Leader, we would love to have you! Please email Matt Faley, email@example.com for more info!
